Family Support Service Provider of the Year - Lots for Tots Awards 2026

Safe, evidence-based sleep support in an unregulated industry

Sleep consultancy is not a regulated profession. Parents deserve to know who they are trusting, how advice is formed and where professional boundaries sit.

Clinical experience changes the questions Laura asks

Laura has worked as a registered children’s nurse and health visitor across hospital and community settings. She maintains current clinical practice and uses evidence, child development knowledge and professional judgement to shape sleep support.

Sleep consultancy does not replace medical assessment. If something sounds medical, falls outside Laura’s role or needs another professional, she will say so and signpost appropriately.

Laura’s professional foundation

  • Registered Children’s Nurse
  • Current NMC registration
  • Postgraduate Health Visiting qualification
  • More than 20 years of paediatric experience
  • Certified sleep consultant
  • Ongoing evidence review and training

Safe sleep principles are never optional

Laura’s guidance is aligned with current UK safer sleep recommendations, including placing infants on their back for sleep, using a firm, flat mattress, keeping the sleep space clear, and avoiding unsafe sleep products. Where families need medical or feeding support, Laura will signpost to the right professional rather than trying to solve everything through sleep advice.
